Main House Project

Private Farm Residence - Taft, Texas

Private Residence located on rural property outside of Taft, Texas.  The fourth building on the campus following a similar architectural vernacular of stone, stucco & natural timber shade elements.

The Main House consists of a Primary Suite including Bedroom, Bathroom and Walk-in Closet, Guest Bedroom with walk-in Closet and shared Hall Bath, Great Room space including Living Room, Kitchen & Dining, Utility Room with built-in storage, oversized two vehicle Garage, front covered Loggia Porch and rear covered Ocean View Porch.  With large expanses of glass along the North & South walls of the Great Room and covered porches sheltering each wall, the separation between indoor and outdoor space is blurred expanding the feeling of size of the house.

Placement of the Project on the site is established on a North/South axis between the Barn with its large timber pergola entertainment area to the North and the view towards Nueces Bay and the Corpus Christi skyline to the South.  This axis is flanked by Casita I & II with their shared garden space to the West and the natural rolling hill to the East.  Positioned as the southernmost structure on axis, the front of the residence will look back into the farm property from a sheltered logia porch while the rear of the residence will overlook a thirty-foot bluff across Nueces Bay with views of downtown Corpus Christi and the new Harbor Bridge in the distance to the south.
